Sewcialites Quilt Finished!

The Sewcialites quilt is finished! I had planned to do the long arm quilting myself, but when my husband wanted to play with learning how to do custom quilting I put it on the frame for him. He quilted every single block differently. And the borders are made up of 3 different patterns. He put a lot of time into this quilt and it shows.

We are still beginners at using the long arm so there are mistakes, but it turned out quite well, in my opinion.

  2. The colours make this a real jewel box. And a few bobbles and right-instead-of-left just add to the charm quits are meant to be used after all. Thanks for sharing on TGIFF.

    1. We did. I had fun designing the layout in Electric Quilt and my husband had fun matching up block quilting designs to the block patterns. It's fun to see what he comes up with.

  4. Lovely quilt. Hubby's quilting looks terrific. I haven’t been able to get mine interested in long arm quilting. If he did get interested I wouldn’t have a closet full of tops waiting. Great looking quilt.

    1. My husband has a PhD in Math and apparently long arm quilting is a lot of fun math problems. I'm surprised he likes it but more than happy to let him play.

    1. Haha, I suspect once he's done a few he'll have had enough and then I'll get more time on the long arm.

    1. It's been a huge surprise that he has any interest in using the quilting long arm, but I'll take it. I guess it frees me up to keep sewing quilts. LOL

    1. It's not freehand. We bought a ProStitcher computer with our long arm. He is poking through the ready made designs we own and finding one that meshes well with the blocks.
