Early Morning Sewing

I woke up at 3:30 AM and couldn't get back to sleep so I got up and sewed. Finished five blocks of my 29 block monthly goal.
I've been a little insane salvaging scraps. I had a big pile of triangles leftover from my Queen's Jewel quilt and I ripped them apart so I could get back the light blue cracked ice fabric because I was worried I would not have enough for this project.

I was happy I could print cutting templates from Electric Quilt so I could cut out the pieces from small scraps. It is taking quite a lot of time to make these blocks but I do like saving this fabric.

Linking up with Needle & Thread Thursday.

  2. I seem to squirrel away fabric too. But I find I don’t always do stuff with them in the end. I’ve started dumping little scraps. I can only store so much! Your blocks are great. I particularly like the 2nd on the left. Great colors and fussy cutting.

    1. That's my favorite block too. I've been surprised how many blocks I've gotten cut out of short two inch strips. I'm definitely going to do a better job of using scraps in the future.
